Placon reclaims both post-consumer bottles and thermoforms that they recycle into their EcoStar material, which was founded on the belief that the recycling of existing PET containers is the responsible solution for the preservation of resources and reduction of landfill waste. With up to 100% recycled content and the highest clarity post-consumer recycled PET material in the industry, products made with EcoStar material deliver on both quality requirements and eco-friendly objectives.

Why it Matters
A number of aesthetic concerns can scare manufacturers away from using recycled material (if it’s been used it often can’t look as new as products made with virgin resin, which might affect sales). Placon’s program addresses that by making clear products that consumers couldn’t distinguish from fresh plastics—and all the while creating a closed loop solution for PET products.
Plastic waste is a valuable resource, and we’re missing an opportunity to do more. You can be a part of a positive change. Join the grassroots movement and contact your elected official with the click of a button.
